Question: Is there a way to make Escalade windows roll all the way down?
I have a 2000 Cadillac Escalade and the rear windows only go down 1/3 - 1/4 of the way. is there a simple way to make it to where the windows can go all the way down?

Answer: No can do, as not enough room in door.

Question: What percentage tint comes factory stock on the rear windows of the 2007 Escalade EXT?
I have a 2007 Escalade EXT and want to get the front windows tinted. The rear windows came tinted from the factory, but I don't know the percentage of visibility.

Basically my question is, What is the visibility percentage on the factory rear windows of the 2007 Escalade EXT?

Answer: Pros:
Comfortable vehicle with plenty of seats.
Nice riding, driving, with good turning radius.
4-wheel drive at the push of a button (nice in the snow)
Fairly safe vehicle
Reliabilty (Mine has 145.000 miles) No major breakdowns
Plenty of power if you need to haul or tow something.

Cons:
Terrible gas mileage 10-12 MPG city 12-14 highway
Above average cost to service because it is a Cadillac
Dirty looks from hybrid car owners!

I would buy one again (except for the gas mileage, we use our as a third car on long trips or when we need all of the seats) but look for a used one. 1 to 3 years old with low miles you will save that hit you take when you drive it off the lot. Make sure you get a Carfax report if you buy used.

My parents are thinking about getting me a cadillac Escalade...I was just wondering how much it would cost to fill it up

Answer: Take the cost of fuel in your area and go by.The base and the AWD models have a 26 gallon fuel tank.The ESV model has a 31 gallon tank.The base MPG on the Escalade is rated at 13 city and 19 hwy.Best of luck.

Question: How to install 3rd row seat on 1999 cadillac escalade?
I plan to install a 3rd row seat (Tahoe/Yukon) on my 1999 cadillac escalade. But, there are not pre-set position for it. I have to remove floor carpet and install something with base of the truck. Before I do this, I want to ask if anybody has experience on it. Thanks a lot!

Answer: I've done swaps in older vehicles and would make a pattern or template from the removed vehicle to transfer to the other vehicle. An over size piece of cardboard or rosin paper is good for this. Before drilling holes, look up on the undercarriage of the floor to see what you might be hitting. Reinforcement plates can be made from old bumper arms or flat iron stock. If you do the transfer, be sure to install the seat belts from the original vehicle.

Question: Travel trailer towing with a 2000 Cadillac Escalade?
I have a 22' trailer weighs about 4500 lbs. Tow it with a 2000 Escalade which is a Denali with different emblems. I have heard that because of the gearing in a SUV as apposed to a pickup I will likely lose my transmission if I keep towing with it. Is this true? If it is what would be the solution? Lower gears in the front and rear differencials? A shift kit in the transmission? Or changing the transmission to a medium duty truck transmission?

Answer: Make sure your trailer isn't over the weight rating of your vehicle or your vehicle's hitch. The vehicle's weight rating will be in the owner's manual the hitch rating will be on a sticker or stamped into the metal of the hitch normally in a x,xxx lbs / x,xxx lbs dist. weight. The first is the weight you want to go by unless you are towing with a weight distributing hitch (you can get these at Uhual) and they can be installed on the trailer and Escalade. Second thing I would do is install a transmission cooler if the vehicle has an automatic transmission this will reduce the amount of heat created by the transmission when the vehicle is shifting (can also be installed at Uhaul). By every 20 degrees you reduce in the transmission the more life you give to. The transmission cooler installation should run you less than $200 depending on the model installed.

Question: What engines are compatible to go into a 2000 Cadillac Escalade?
From what I understand an LQ9 is a special high-output version of the Vortec 6000 V8 truck engine originally designed for Cadillac. So what other engines (and codes) are compatible with my Escalade?

Answer: This is a very difficult question to answer with it being so open ended. There are probably VERY few engines that could just be dropped in. I assume that your Escalade has a 5.7 liter 350 which is a small block chevrolet engine. Therefore, there are MANY different engines that would work in your Escalade with some modification. Some modifications as simple as changing the dipstick tube all the way up to changing everything except the actual block.

I have 3 suggestions.
1) Call some major junkyards in your area. Ask if they have an engine to fit your vehicle. If they say "yes", ask them what it is coming out of. If they say "no," ask them what will fit. Call several junkyards. The more you call the more info you will get.
2) Your Escalade is really just a Tahoe with different badges. So it is very similar to a Chevy Silverado under the hood. go visit some Chevrolet custom shops. You can find them in the phone book. Car people LOVE to talk cars. You can get a wealth of information in 10 minutes.

3) Go try to make a friend in the parts department at your local Cadillac dealership. He/she is another wealth of info.

Answer: edmunds.com is a good website to determine the price. It even lets you select various options (such as sunroof, color, grill, etc..) that will affect the price.

no mention of third rows seats being available as standard or option

2000 - no difference from 1999
